Inventor: Botheras, Arthur

Location: Altario

Comments: N/A

Description: WHAT I CLAIM AS MY INVENTION IS:-

(1) In a single cylinder handle actuated pump, said handle being pivotally carried by a suitable support, an adjustable spring interposed between the handle and the support and operating to assist in the raising of the load on the down strike of the handle and to resist the falling of the down moving pump parts on the up stroke of the handle.

(2) In combination, a pump head having a handle support connected thereto, a pump handle pivotally connected to the support and a spring interposed between the handle and the support and operating force the handle downwardly from its up position.

(3) In combination, a support, a pump handle pivotally carried by the support and an adjustable spring interposed between the handle and the support and operating to force the handle downwardly from its up position.

(4) In combination, a support, a handle having a lengthwise allotted head receiving the support and pivotally attached thereto and a spring housed in the slot and interposed between the handle and the support and operating to force the elevated handle downwardly.

(5) In combination, a pump handle having a lengthwise slotted head, an upstanding support for the handle, said support entering the slot and being pivotally secured to the head, and providing an extension beyond said pivot point, a rod within the slot having one end pivotally attached to the extension and the other end slidably mounted in the head, an abutment on the rod, and a coiled spring encircling the rod and engaging the abutment and the head, said spring operating to force the elevated handle downwardly.

(6) In combination, a pump handle having a lengthwise slotted head, an upstanding support for the handle said support entering the slot and being pivotally secured to the head and providing an extension beyond the said pivot point, a rod within the slot having one end pivotally attached to the extension and the other end slidably mounted in a cross web crossing the slot, a nut screw threaded on the rod and a coiled spring encircling the rod and engaging the nut and the web and operating to force the raised handle downwardly.

(7) In combination, a pump handle having a lengthwise slotted head, an upstanding support for the handle said support entering the slow and being pivotally secured to the head and providing forked extension beyond pivot point, a stub shaft pivotally carried by the forks, a web crossing the rear part of the slot, a rod attached to the stub shaft and slidably carried by the web, an adjusting nut screw threaded on the rod and a coiled spring encircling the rod and engaging the nut and web.

(8) In combination, a pump handle support, a pump handle pivotally carried by the support and a mechanism housed within the handle and interposed between the handle and the support and embodying a pressure spring acting to force the elevated handle downwardly.
