Description: The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. A building brick or block whose opposed sides and ends are parallel, the top side having parallel ribs or extruded ridges which extend the full length of the block and are symmetrically disposed with respect to the centre line of the block's top side; the enclosing planes of each rib forming a triangular section; each rib contiLu1ng down the front end of the block to its intersection with a mating groove so disposed along the under side of the block as to correspond with the rib on the upper side of the block; each mating groove continuing vertically at the back end of the block to its intersection with an extruded rib at the top side of the block; the front end of the block having a projecting tongue which is trapezoidal in section, medially disposed and parallel with the extruded ribs; the back end of the block having a mating groove into which a tongue similar to that at the front end can be slidingly fitted; the block being pierced from its top side to its bottom side by five equally spaced lightening holes.
