Rotably Coacting Ball and Valve-Stem for Faucets (Patent No: 401424)

Inventor: Edlund, John Ludvik

Location: Calgary

Comments: N/A

Description: I CLAIM:-

1. In a faucet or similar device, a composition valve closure ball in combination and in seating contact with a semi-spherically terminated valve stem of greater spheral radius than the said ball, a pointed stud affixed to and projecting from the interior face of the semi-spherical end of said valve stem for retained penetration into said ball and with its axis aligned through the rotable axis of said stem, circular shoulders and/or collars projecting around said pointed stud to rotably secure said ball and said stud, due to the internal resiliency of the composition ball, and to maintain frictional contact between said ball and said faucet stem.
2. In a faucet, a compression stem cupped to receive a ball valve, a stud projecting from and within said cup at the rotable axis of said stem, enlarged sections around said stud to assure, after penetration of stud into said ball, a frictional rotatable attachment of said ball to said cupped stem.
