Claim.—1. A beet topper as described, consisting of a supporting vehicle frame, a power plant carried thereby, a cutter supported on a pivotal structure carried below the frame, said cutter being rotatably mounted in said structure and means to raise or lower the cutter with relation to the ground, and spring means normally urging the same downward, means carried on the front of the structure to bend the beet tops forward and expose the leaf stalks to be cut, and means carried by the cutter and to be rotatable therewith to throw the leaves aside when cut, substantially as set forth.
