Description: The Governors of the University of Alberta, assignee of Edward Herbert Boomer, both of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 13th May, 1930 Filed 18th July, 1928. Serial No. 339,486.

Claim.—1. The herein described process which comprises introducing natural gas into a still used in the process of cracking and distilling petroleum at a pressure at least equal to the thermal pressure developed in the still.

2. The herein described process which comprises introducing natural gas into a still used in the process of cracking and distilling the heavier hydrocarbons at a pressure it least equal to the thermal pressure developed in the still to cause a chemical reaction between the two.

3. The herein described process which comprises introducing natural gas into a still used in the process of cracking and distilling the heavier hydrocarbons at a pressure at least equal to the thermal pressure developed in the still and circulating the mixture over a catalyst to bring about the chemical reaction.
