4 Claims.

1. For use with a conventional clothes line, the combination of an auxiliary clothes line, at least one hook supporting the auxiliary line from the conventional line, clamping means mountable upon the conventional line, means for detachably connecting one end of said auxiliary clothes line to said clamping means, and a tightening element connected to the other end of said auxiliary clothes line, said tightening element being slidably adjustable upon said conventional line and jammingly engaging the latter when the auxiliary line is drawn taut.

2. The combination denned in Claim 1, in which said fastening element is a plate-like member having a slot extending partially thereacross, said slot being slightly greater in width than the diameter of said conventional line.

3. For use with a conventional clothes line, the combination of an auxiliary clothes line including a plurality of sections, hooks attached to said sections for supporting the auxiliary line upon the conventional line, clamping means mountable upon the conventional line, means for detachably connecting one end of one of said auxiliary clothes line sections to said clamping means, tightening elements interconnecting each of said auxiliary clothes line sections, and a tightening element connected to the end of the auxiliary clothes line section remote from the detachably-connectible section, said tightening elements being slidably adjustable upon said conventional line and jammingly engaging the latter when the sections of the auxiliary line connected thereto are drawn taut.

4. The combination denned in Claim 3, in which said tightening elements are plate-like members and each of said members has a slot extending partially thereacross, said slot being slightly greater in width than the diameter of said conventional line.
