Inventor: Hilliard, Gerald W.

Location: Camrose

Comments: N/A

Description: Gerald W. Hilliard, Camrose, Alberta, Canada. Application December 23. 1952, Serial No. 640,660.
6 Claims.

1. A low tire pressure indicating system for automotive vehicles comprising a casing; an airtight elastic tube positioned within the said casing, such elastic tube being fixed at one of its ends to the said casing and adapted at the other of its ends for movement within the said casing; an electrical contact positioned within the said airtight tube, such electrical contacts being adjustable from the exterior of the said casing; a second electrical contact within the said airtight tube, such second electrical contact being adapted to contact the first named electrical contact on movement of the said end of the said airtight tube; spring means adapted to exert pressure against the said movable end of the said airtight tube toward the first named electrical contact; means for introducing air from the inner tube of a wheel of an automotive vehicle into the said airtight tube; means connecting the said second electrical contact to one side of an indicating system and means connecting the first named electrical contact to the other side of an indicating system.

2. A low tire pressure indicating system for automotive vehicles as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the said casing comprises a cylinder having threadably engaged end portions and adapted to be fixed rigidly to a wheel of the said automotive vehicle in electrical contact with the grounded frame-work of the said vehicle.

3. A low tire pressure indicating system for automotive vehicles as claimed in Claim 2 wherein the said first named electrical contact comprises a set screw projecting through one end of the said casing into the said casing into the said airtight elastic tube and in threadable contact with the said end of the said casing.

4. A low tire pressure indicating system for automotive vehicles as claimed in Claim 1, in which the means for introducing air from the inner tube of a wheel of an automotive vehicle comprises an orifice through one end of the casing in communication with the said airtight elastic tube and a detachable air tube leading from the said orifice to the air inlet leading from the said orifice to the air inlet of the said inner tube.
