Description: Claim
1. In a device of the class described, the combination of a supporting means, a gathering means connected to said supporting means, a receiving means carried by said supporting means, a gathering means carried thereby, a remeans to a position for permitting the ready removal of the contents of the receiving means.
2. In a device of the class described, the combination of a supporting means, a gathering means carried thereby, a receiving means carried upon said supporting means, said gathering means and said receiving means being adapted to operate at intermittent intervals, whereby said gathering means may gather sheaves of the like and deposit the same upon said receiving means, after which the receiving means may be moved to a position for facilitating the removal of the sheaves therefrom.
3. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a gathering means movably mounted upon said primary frame, a movable receiving means carried upon said primary frame, a movable receiving means carried upon said primary frame, means for operating said gathering means, and means for operating said movable means, whereby said gathering means may gather sheaves and deposit the same upon said receiving means after which said receiving means may be moved to a desired position upon said primary frame for facilitating the removal of the sheaves therefrom.
4. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a fork movably mounted upon said frame, means for operating said fork, a movable receiving means carried upon said primary frame, said fork being adapted to gather sheaves and deposit the same upon a said movable receiving means, and means for moving said movable receiving means to a position upon said frame for facilitating the removal of the sheaves therefrom.
5. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a fork movably mounted upon said primary frame, a movably receiving means carried upon said primary frame, means for operating said movable receiving means, said movable receiving means being normally carried in the rear of said fork, whereby said fork may gather sheaves and deposit the same upon said movable receiving means, and said movable receiving means being adapted to a position upon said primary frame for facilitating the removal of the sheaves therefrom.
6. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, means for moving said fork, a movable receiving means normally carried in the rear of said fork, whereby said fork may deposit sheaves upon said movable receiving means, and means for moving said movable receiving means forwardly over said fork to a point in from said primary frame, whereby the sheaves upon said movable receiving means may be easily removed therefrom.
7. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a fork movably mounted upon said primary frame, means for operating said fork, a movable frame carried upon said primary at the rear of said form, whereby said form may gather sheaves and position the sheaves upon said movable frame, means for moving said movable frame forwardly over said fork and beyond the forward positions of said primary frame, whereby free access may be had to said movable frame for facilitating the removal of the sheaves.
8. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a vertically tilitable fork carried by the forward portions of said primary frame, means for swinging said fork upwardly, a movable frame carried upon said primary frame at the rear of said fork, whereby said fork may gather sheaves and then be swung upwardly for depositing the sheaves upon said movable frame, and means for moving said movable platform over the forward portions of said primary frame for permitting access to said movable frame, thereby allowing sheaves to be easily removed therefrom.
9. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a fork tiltably carried upon the forward portions of said primary frame, grooved pulleys mounted upon said primary frame, a movable frame carried upon aid pulleys, means for swinging said form upwardly whereby said fork may gather sheaves and then deposit the same upon said movable frame, means for moving said movable frame over said pulleys to a point above said fork, whereby free access may be had to said to said movable frame for facilitating the removal of the sheaves therefrom, and said grooved pulleys being adapted to both support and guide said movable platform across the upper portions of said primary frame.
10. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a fork pivotally mounted upon the forward portions of said primary frame, said fork comprising an L-shaped angle bar, bearing secured upon the ends of said bar and being pivotally mounted upon said primary frame, tines engaging said bar, means for anchoring said tines upon said bar, said tines extending forwardly and having offset forward ends, whereby the forward ends will normally ride upon the surface of the ground, a reinforcing strip positioned upon the forward potions of said tines, means for holding said strip in position, whereby said tines will be held in spaced relation, thereby forming a reinforcing fork, said fork being adapted to gather sheaves, means for swinging said fork upwardly, a movable receiving means carried by the rear portions of said fork, whereby said fork may deposit sheaves upon said movable receiving means, and means for moving said movable receiving means over said fork so as to facilitate access to said movable receiving means, thereby permitting sheaves to be easily removed therefrom.
11. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, means for supporting said primary frame, an auxiliary shaft carried by said frame, winding drums keyed upon said auxiliary shaft, a fork pivotally mounted upon the forward positions of said frame, winding drums keys upon said auxiliary shaft, a fork pivotally mounted upon the forward portions of said frame, arms pivotally mounted upon said primary frame, means connecting said arms to said form, cables connected to said arms and being would upon pulleys, means for causing said pulleys to rotate as the device is in motions, whereby said cables will cause said arms to lift said fork, thereby permitting the fork to first gather sheaves and the swing upwardly, a movable receiving means carried upon said frame in the rear of said fork, whereby as the fork moves upwardly said movable receiving means will receive the sheaves therefrom and means for moving said movable receiving means forwardly over said fork, whereby access may be had to said movable receiving means will receiving the sheaves therefrom of the sheave therefrom.
12. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a drive shaft supporting said primary frame, draft wheels mounted upon said drive shaft, a gear keyed upon said drive shaft, an auxiliary shaft rotatably mounted upon said primary frame, a slidably mounted gear keyed upon said auxiliary shaft, winding drums keyed upon the ends of said auxiliary shaft, means for moving said last-mentioned gear into meshing engagement with the gear carried by said drive shaft, whereby said auxiliary shaft may be rotated, a fork pivotally mounted upon the forward portions of said primary frame, arms connected to said fork, cables connected to said arms and being wound upon pulleys, a movable receiving means carried upon said primary frame in the rear of said fork, whereby as said auxiliary shaft is rotated said fork may be swung upwardly for depositing sheaves carried thereby onto said movable receiving means, and means for moving said movable receiving means forwardly over said fork and the forward portion of said primary frame, whereby free access may be had to said movable receiving means for facilitating the removal of the sheaves therefrom.
13. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, means for supporting said primary frame, an auxiliary shaft rotatably mounted upon said primary frame, means co-operating with said first-mentioned means and said auxiliary shaft for intermittently rotating said auxiliary shaft, a fork pivotally mounted upon the forward portions of said primary frame, means co-operating with said fork and said auxiliary shaft for swinging said fork upwardly as said auxiliary shaft is rotated, grooved pulleys loosely mounted upon said shaft, a movable frame positioned upon said primary frame, said movable frame comprising side beams, a cross beam connected to said side beams, braces carried upon said side beams, thereby forming a rigid movable frame, said side beams fitting upon said grooved pulleys, said form being adapted to be swung upwardly so as to deposit sheaves upon said movable frame, and means for moving said movable frame forwardly over said fork for moving said movable frame to a position where free access may be had thereto.
14. In a device of the class described, the combination of a supporting frame, a gathering means carried upon the forward portions of said supporting frame, a movable frame normally carried in the rear of said gathering means for operating said gathering means, whereby said gathering means may gather sheaves and deposit the same upon said movable frame, means for moving said movable frame forwardly over said gathering means, whereby free access may be had to said movable frame for facilitating the removal of the sheaves therefrom.
15. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a gathering means carried upon the forward portions of said primary frame, means for operating said gathering means, grooved pulleys carried upon said primary frame, a movable frame comprising a plurality of side bars resting upon said grooved pulleys, grooves connected to said side bars, thereby forming a rigid movable frame, means for moving said movable frame forwardly over said pulleys, said pulleys being adapted to support and also guide said movable frame over said primary frame, whereby said movable frame may be moved so as to extend over said gathering means, whereby access may be easily had to said movable frame for facilitating the removal of sheaves therefrom.
16. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a gathering means carried upon the forward portions of said primary frame, means for operating said gathering means, a movable frame carried upon said primary frame normally in the rear of said gathering means, cables connected to said movable frame, means for drawing said cables in two directions, whereby said movable frame may be moved forwardly or rearwardly upon said primary frame, said gathering means being adapted to receive and deposit sheaves upon said movable frame, after which acting said cables may move said movable frame forwardly over said gathering means so as to allow free access to said movable frame and thus permit the sheaves to be easily removed therefrom.
17. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, means for supporting said primary frame, a gathering means carried upon the forward portions of said primary frame, a movable frame positioned upon said primary frame normally in the rear of said gathering means, pulleys carried upon the rear and forward end of said primary frame, cables connected to said movable frame, reeling drums mounted upon said primary frame, mean for rotating said reeling drums, said cables passing around said reeling drums, whereby said movable frame may be moved forwardly or rearwardly upon said movable frame, said gathering means being adapted to deposit sheaves upon said movable frame, after which acting said movable cables being adapted to move aid movable frame forwardly over said gathering means so as to permit free access to said movable frame.
18. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a drive shaft supporting said frame, drive wheels keyed to and supporting said drive shaft, a gear keyed upon said auxiliary shaft, means for moving said last-mentioned gear into engagement with said first-mentioned gear so that as said first-mentioned gear keyed upon said last-mentioned gear in to engagement with said first-mentioned gear so that as said first mentioned hear is rotated rotary motion will be imparted to said auxiliary shaft, reeling drum keyed upon said auxiliary shaft, a gathering means keyed upon the forward portions of said primary frame, means for operating said gathering means, a movable frame positioned upon said primary frame, pulleys carried by the forward and rear ends of said primary frame, cables secured to said movable frame and passing around said pulleys, said cables also passing around said pulleys, said cables also passing around said reeling drums, said movable frame being adapted to receive shaves from said gathering means, after which action said auxiliary shaft is adapted to rotate said reeling drums so as to cause said cables to draw said movable frame forwardly over said gathering means, thereby permitting free access to said movable frame for permitting the sheaves to be easily removed therefrom.
19. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a drive shaft supporting said primary frame, drive wheel keyed to and supporting said drive shaft, means for holding said primary frame from tipping a gear keyed to said drive shaft, a pair of auxiliary shafts mounted upon said primary frame, said auxiliary shafts having slidably mounted gears keyed thereto, means for moving either of said last-mentioned gears into engagement with the gear carried by said drive shaft, whereby either of said auxiliary shafts may be rotated, a tiltable fork carried by the forward portions of said primary frame, means co-operating with said tiltable fork and one of said auxiliary shafts for swinging said fork upwardly as the auxiliary shafts for swinging said fork upwardly as the auxiliary shaft is rotated, a movable frame positioned upon said primary frame, said movable frame being adapted to receive sheaves from said fork, means co-operating with said remaining auxiliary shaft and movable frame whereby said movable frame may be moved forwardly over said fork as the last-mentioned auxiliary shaft is rotated, whereby free access may be had to said movable frame for facilitating the removal of sheaves therefrom.
20. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a drive shaft supporting said primary frame, a bevel gear keyed to said drive shaft, drive wheels keyed to and supporting said drive shaft, a pair of auxiliary shafts rotatably mounted upon said primary frame, bevel gears slidably mounted and keyed upon said auxiliary shafts, means for moving said bevel gears of said auxiliary shafts into engagement with the bevel gear of said drive shaft, whereby as said drive wheels are rotated rotary movement will be imparted to either of said auxiliary shafts, a fork tiltably mounted upon the forward portions of said primary frame, means connecting said fork to one of said auxiliary shafts, whereby as the first-mentioned auxiliary shaft is rotated said fork will move upwardly, a movable frame carried upon said primary frame, cables connected to said auxiliary shaft, said cables being connected to said reeling drums, whereby as the drums are rotated said movable frame may be moved, said movable frame being adapted to receive sheaves from said fork after which said movable frame is adapted to be moved forwardly over said fork so as to facilitate free access to said movable frame.
21. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a shaft supporting said primary frame, plough beams keyed to and supporting said shaft, a fork pivotally mounted upon the forward portions of said primary frame, a movable frame slidably mounted upon said primary frame in the rear of said fork, means for operating said fork, whereby said fork may gather sheaves and deposit the same upon said movable frame, means for moving said movable frame forwardly over said fork so as to allow free access to said movable frame for permitting the sheaves to be removed therefrom, and means extending from the rear portions of said primary frame for facilitating the steering of the device.
22. In a device of the class described, the combination of a primary frame, a gathering means carried upon said primary frame, a movable receiving means carried upon said primary frame, said gathering means being adapted to gather sheaves and deposit the same upon said adapted to move to a position for facilitating free access thereto, a draft pole extending from the rear portions of said primary frame, a platform connected to the rear portions of said draft pole, a steering wheel connected to said platform, whereby the device may be steered, means connected to said platform for facilitating the operation of the device, and means connected to said platform and to said primary frame for facilitating the operation of said receiving means and said gathering means.
