Windshield Wiper (Patent No: 309974)

Inventor: Akins, Clarence M. (assignee)

Location: Innisfree

Comments: N/A

Description:
WHAT I CLAIM AS MY INVENTION IS:

1. A windshield cleaning attachment in combination with an oscillating arm, comprising a casing adapted to fit on the arm and extend in spaced relation from the windshield, a lateral outstanding bracket member carried by the casing extending over one side of the casing and supporting a squeegee member adapted to contact with the surface of the windshield, and a heating coil contained within said casing adapted to radiate heat to the windshield.

2. In a windshield cleaning attachment, the combination with an oscillating arm, of a wiper member adapted to contact with the surface of the windshield, said wiper being carried by a heater casing having a flat heat radiating surface spaced from the windshield and carried by said arm, and means for heating the casing to radiate heat to the windshield.

3. A windshield cleaning attachment comprising in combination with an oscillating arm, a longitudinally disposed casing, a bracket member secured to the casing adapted to provide a securing medium between the casing and the oscillating arm, said bracket extending from the casing on one side providing a lateral support, a wiper member mounted in said support in parallel with the casing and extending into contact with the surface of the windshield, and means carried by the casing for radiating heat to the windshield over the path of travel of the wiper member.

4. A windshield cleaning attachment comprising in combination with an oscillating arm, a longitudinally disposed casing having a flat heat radiating surface designed to be spaced from the windshield, a bracket formed on the casing adapted to provide a securing medium between the casing and the oscillating arm, said bracket extending outwardly on one side of the casing and being bent inwardly to form a support, a wiper member carried by said support in parallel with the casing adapted to contact with the surface of the windshield, a covered heating coil mounted in the casing adapted to radiate heat to the windshield, and means for supplying current to said heating coil.

5. In a windshield cleaner, the combination with an oscillating arm, of a casing adapted to be secured to said oscillating arm in parallel spaced relationship with the windshield and carrying a squeegee member in spaced parallel relationship adapted to contact with the windshield, said casing being provided with a flat heat radiating surface of substantial area and means for heating, the casing to radiate heat to the windshield over the path of travel of the squeegee.

6. A device as claimed in Claim 5 in which the means, for radiating heat to the windshield comprises a heating coil positioned in the casing in U-shaped formation, and means for supplying current to said coil.
