Description: WHAT WE CLAIM IS:-

1. A clip of the class described comprising a pair of clamp plates fashioned at one end to compose a pair of jaws, a U-shaped guide plate fitted over the clamp plates with its legs projecting beyond one of them, a compression spring interposed between the projecting end of said legs and seated against one of the clamp plates, and means borne by the said legs for securing the spring under tension.
2. A clip of the class described comprising a pair of clamp plates fulcrumed at one end and fashioned at the other end to compose a pair of jaws, a U-shaped guide plate fitted over the clamp plates with its legs projecting beyond one of them, a compression spring interposed between the projecting end of said legs and seated against one of the clamp plates, and means borned by the said legs for securing the spring under tension.
3. A clip of the class described consisting of a pair of clamp plates inwardly curved at one end to fit about the terminal of a storage battery, the other end of said clamp plates being curved in cross section to lengthwise fit about the end of a cable, a U-shaped guide plate fitted over the intermediate portions of the clamp plates with its legs projecting beyond one of them, a compression spring interposed between the projecting ends of said legs and seated against one of the clamp plates, and means borne by the said legs for securing the spring under tension.
4. A clip of the class described consisting of a pair of clamp plates fashioned with jaws at both ends and reduced intermediate of each set of jaws to provide shoulder, a U-shaped guide plate fitted over the reduced portions of the clamp plates between said shoulders, said guide plate having its legs projecting beyond one of aid clamp plates, a compression spring interposed between the projecting ends of said les and seated against one of the clamp plates, and means borne by said legs for securing the spring under tension.
5. A clip of the class described consisting of a pair of clamp plates fashioned with jaws at both ends and reduced intermediate of each set of jaws to provide shoulder, a U-shaped guide plate fitted over the reduced portions of the clamp plates between said shoulders, said guide plate having its legs projecting beyond one of said clamp plates, a compression coil spring interposed between the projecting end of said legs and seated against the adjacent clamp plate, and prongs integral with the said legs and bent over the outer coil of the spring.
