3 Claims.
1. In a hydrant including a hollow body and at least one hydrant outlet cap; an air valve adapted to be secured to said cap and communicating with said body, said air valve including a drilling venting to atmosphere and a shut off ball valve adapted to close said drilling when under the influence of hydrant pressure.
2. In a hydrant including a hollow body and at least one hydrant outlet cap; an air valve adapted to be secured to said cap and communicating with said body, said air valve including a cylindrical screw-threaded hollow body portion adapted to be secured screw-threadably into a screw-threaded drilling in said cap, a drilling through said body venting to atmosphere, a valve seating within said body and surrounding one end of said drilling, a ball valve adapted to engage said seating under hydrant pressure thus sealing off said drilling, and means to restrain the movement of said ball valve away from said seating.
3. The device according to claim 2 in which said means including an upstanding flange in said hollow body portion against which said ball valve is adapted to rest.
