Water Heater (Patent No: 435196)

Inventor: Avery, Eric

Location: Calgary

Comments: N/A

Description: CLAIMS

Having regard to the foregoing disclosure, the patent of which this specification forms part confers, subject to the conditions prescribed in The Patent Act,l935, the exclusive right, privilege and liberty of making, constructing, using and vending to others to be used, the invention as defined in claims submitted by the patentee as follows-

1. A water heater of the type described comprising, in combination, an outer boiler element, an inner gas heated combustion chamber element concentrically disposed within said boiler, means to clamp these two elements together with flanges having inserted gaskets therebetween in a sealed manner, gas pipe burners of "bunsen" type directing flames on to the inside wall of said inner chamber, means to circulate water for heating between the said outer boiler and the said inner heating chamber, a central flue slidable within the top closure end of said chamber and integral with the top end of said boiler, and a platform inside said combustion chamber for support of said gas pipe burners.
2. A water heater having in combination an outer boiler element, a single water heating element concentrically disposed therewithin providing an annular water chamber therebetween, intake and outlet openings for line couplings for water to circulate in and out of said annular chamber respectively, an inwardly disposed flange ring integral with the top end of said heating element, a flue pipe fitting slidably within this said flange ring, an inwardly disposed flange ring integral with the top end of said boiler element to which said flue pipe is affixed, a gasket between said two top flange rings, an outwardly disposed flange disposed towards the bottom of said heating chamber on its outer face, an outwardly directioned flange ring at the bottom end of said boiler element and integral therewith and holed to register with and on top of said heater chamber flange, a gasket between the two bottom flange rings, and bolts to draw the top and bottom flange rings together to compress said gaskets for sealing the water within said boiler element.
3. A water heater as described, combining, a removable boiler element, an inner heating tube from which said boiler element may be removed, adjustable sealing means between the top ends of said boiler element and said inner heating tube, sealing means at the bottom of said boiler, flanges and gaskets to accomplish both top and bottom sealing means, means to compress said gaskets by one set of bolts by tightening together flanges at the bottom of said heating tube and said boiler, gas jet pipes centrally grouped within said heating tube each pipe flaring outwardly from centre axis of said tube to impinge the flame therefrom on the wall of said inner heating tube, means to support said jet pipes within said tube on a platform affixed to the tube, means to secure said pipes with the necessary burner element against turning, water inlet and outlet openings connecting for circulatory water through said boiler, and a central waste gas flue slidable in top of said inner heating tube and integral with the said boiler at its top closure end, and an auger shaped baffle within the top of said heating tube vertically disposed to check the flow of heat.
