Claim.—1. In a pump, a pair of driving gears, a pair of driven gears meshing with the driving gears and adapted to actuate pump rods, means for intermittently and individually rotating the driving gears, and means intermediate of the driving gears whereby the motion of one gear is transmitted to the other to continuously rotate the driving gears.
2. In a pump, a pair of spaced driving gears, a pair of spaced driven gears meshing with the driving gears and adapted to actuate pump rods, bevelled gears intermediate of the driving gears and meshing therewith, and means for intermittently and individually rotating the driving gears.
3. In a duplex pump, a pair of driving gears having ratchet teeth on the outer faces and bevelled teeth on the inner faces, bevelled pinions between the driving gears meshing with the bevelled teeth, driven gears meshing with the driving gears, a lever pivoted above the driven gears, and two sets of pawls adapted to engage with the ratchet teeth of the driving gears and on diametrically opposite sides thereof and pivotally connected to the lever.
