Feather Cleaning Apparatus (Patent No: 440841)

Claim – 1. Feather cleaning apparatus comprising an upper feather container, a lower heated feather container integral with and forming the lower addition to said upper container, a steam heated jacket around said lower container, blower means to agitate the feathers within said combined containers, a dust outlet screen in the top of the upper container, a controlled steam inlet pipe, a feather drying fan, and an outlet bonnet partitioned from said upper container by a slidable gate for the passage of cleaned feathers therethrough as blown by said fan.

2. In a feather cleaner machine, a steam heated container for feathers, a power driven blower fan within said container to agitate the feathers therein, a steam pipe for the introduction of steam into said container, a feather drying power driven fan delivering air into said container, a hinged dust evacuation screen, a side bonnet and outlet aperture to guide evacuated cleaned feathers from said container, gate means to control the outlet of cleaned feathers, and a hinge-covered feather feed intake aperture.

3. In a feather cleaner, a feather container, the bottom portion of which is steam heated, blower means to agitate the feathers introduced into said container, a fan to dry the steamed feathers after steaming, means to introduce live steam to cleanse the contained feathers prior to drying, a. screen for the exit of dirt separated from the feathers during agitation and drying, and a controlled gate on the side of said container for the outlet of cleaned feathers from said container as blown out by said fan.
