Description: Andrew Arthur Briosi, Picture Butte, Alberta, Canada. 22nd July, 1947. Filed 1st September, 1944. Serial No. 517,858.

Claim.—1. A loading and grading device, adapted for attachment to farm tractors and comprising a multi-tined fork or scoop pivotally supported on arms disposed at opposite sides of tractor frame and hinged to the rear portion of .slid frame, extending therefrom to push said fork or scoop along the ground in front of tractor until loaded, means for raising said form or scoop when loaded by power supplied from the power take-off of tractor through plain or differential gearing to one or more hoisting drums and cable's winding thereon, a system of pulleys to multiply and direct the pull thereof and a clutch and brake manually operated, for holding said fork or scoop in raised position while tractor is in motion and for controlling the speed at which said fork or scoop shall be allowed to descend by gravity, and a manually operated trip for dumping said fork or scoop when in raised position.

2. A hay sweep, stacker and loading device adapted for attachment to farm tractors and comprising a multi-fined sweep pivotally mounted on arms disposed at opposite sides of tractor frame and hinged to the rear portion of said frame, extending therefrom to push said sweep along the ground in front of tractor until loaded, means for raising said sweep when loaded by power supplied from the power take-off of tractor through plain or differential gearing to one or more hoisting drums and cables winding thereon, a system of pulleys to multiply and direct the pull thereof and a clutch and brake manually operated, for holding said sweep in raised posit on while tractor is in motion and for controlling the speed at which said sweep shall be allowed to descend by gravity, and a manually operated, trip for dumping said sweep when in raised position, provision for extending the length of the sweep arms by means of telescoping members, and for said arms to swing through an arc of approximately 100 degrees and discharge the contents of said sweep on a stack at rear of tractor, a cable and spring attached to said arms from a fixed support adapted to cause a sudden stop and rebound of sweep at the end of its swing to assist in discharging contents and idler sheaves disposed at the front of tractor to direct the pull of the hoisting cables at the start of raising sweep.
