Aircraft Signalling System (Patent No: 622577)

Description: The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property on privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. A signalling component for jettisoning from an aircraft, comprising in combination an outer spherical casing, said casing having a weighted base, means on said casing
to prevent same from rolling when on the ground, said means comprising, with said spherical shape and said weighted base, a plurality of spikes secured to and extending from said casing in such position to prevent said rolling, a parachute secured to said casing for reducing the speed of descent thereof, storage batteries within said casing, and a signalling light carried by said casing, said signalling light being wired, to said storage batteries, said storage batteries being carried within a container, said container being resiliently suspended within said casing.

2. The device according to Claim I which includes a flasher unit in circuit between said storage batteries and said lamp, whereby said lamp maybe set to flash intermittently.

3. The device according to Claims 1 or 2 in which said casing includes a lid detachably secured thereto, a depression within said lid, said bulb being mounted with said depression, a transparent plastic covering over said depression for protecting said bulb, said lid having an upstanding peripheral lip formed therearound, said parachute being loosely contained within said lip.
