Claim.—1. A shot firer comprising a casing, a post in the casing, a switch pivoted to the post, a contact normally spaced from the post, a plunder controlling the operation of the switch, and means for locking the plunger in an inoperative position.

2. A shot firer comprising a casing, a post in the casing, a switch pivotally mounted in the post, a contact normally spaced from the switch, a bracket, an insulating member between the bracket and the switch, a plunger co-operating with the bracket and a longitudinally displaceable locking rod designed to lock the plunger normally in an inoperative position.

3. A shot firer comprising a casing, a post in the casing, a switch pivotally mounted to the post, a contact member spaced from the switch, an insulating member on the switch, a bracket attached to the insulating member and formed with lugs having a slot therein, a plunger, a transverse pin on the lower end of the plunger co-acting with the slot, resilient means for normally holding the plunger with the switch disengaged from the contact, and resiliently controlled means for locking the plunger in an Inoperative position.
