Peter John Pearson, Stavely. Alberta, Canada, 11th January, 1915; 6 years. Filed 17th April, 1913. Receipt No. 250,714.

Claim.—1. A projectile comprising a stock formed with terminal bore, an interiorly slotted shell arranged in the bored end of said stock, caps for said slotted portions, the head of said shell being spaced away from the end of said stock, a ring connecting the head of said shell and said stock, a percussion cap carried by said shell, and an inflammable fluid disposed in the slotted portions of said shell and in the spaced portion between the head of said shell and the adjacent end of said stock.

2. A projectile comprising a stock formed with a terminal bore, an interiorly sloted shell comprising a head and shank, caps for the slotted portions of said shell, the said shank being projected into the end of said stock a distance less than the depth of the bore therein, and said head being spaced away from the adjacent end of said stock, said head being formed with an annular groove, an annular shoulder formed upon the end of said stork, a collar connecting said stock and shell and having its lateral edges abutting said shoulder and disposed in the grooved portion of said head, a percussion cap carried by said shell, and an inflammable fluid disposed in the slotted portions of said shell and in the spaced portions between said head and stock and between said shank and stock.
