Description: The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:
1. A locking device for sashless windows having Overlapped fixed and sliding panes in a framework, such locking device comprising a base plate adapted for securement to the said framework and adjustable toward and away from the said panes, a locking finger mounted rotatably on the base and having a resilient forward end engageable with the said sliding pane, stops on the base plate positioned to limit rotational movement of the said locking finger and closing means on the said sliding pane.
2. A locking device for sashless windows having overlapped fixed and sliding panes in a framework with the sliding pane movable from a closed to an open position with respect to the fixed pane, such locking device comprising a base plate adapted for securement to the said framework and adjustable toward and away from the said window pane, a locking finger mounted rotatably on the base and having a resilient forward end engageable with the said sliding pane when the sliding pane is in the closed position, stops on the base plate adapted to limit rotational movement of the said locking finger and guiding means secured to the framework to inhibit movement of the sliding pane when the said locking finger is engaged therewith, Such guiding means adapted to move the said sliding pane away from the said fixed pane when the sliding pane is moved to the said open position.
3. The locking device as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the said closing means on the sliding pane comprises an aperture in the sliding pane positioned adjacent the edge of the pane remote from the said overlapping edges, a bolt through the aperture having a flat head to engage with one side of the pane, a resilient washer fitted over the bolt on the other side of the pane and a knob secured on the bolt and projecting on the opposite side of the pane.
