Claim.—1. A car loading device for pieces of timber and the like comprising a platform mounting thereon means to engage and propel said articles and means to guide said articles into the propelling means, a chute to carry said articles to the platform and an additional chute to carry the timber into the car.
2. In the device disclosed in claim 1 wherein the engaging and propelling means comprises sets of rollers, one roller in each set being power driven and the other roller superimposed over first roller in a floating relationship.
3. In the device disclosed in claim 1 wherein the engaging and propelling means comprises sets of rollers, one of which is power driven and has a frictional device on the periphery thereof, the other superimposed over the driven roller in an adjustable floating relationship.
