Description:
The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. In a storm or stable lantern including a reservoir base portion and a lamp glass surmounting same; stabilizing means cooperating with said base portion extendable and retractable as desired, said means including a plurality of ground engaging legs hingedly secured to the underside of said base portion and extending therefrom at right angles to one another when in the extended position, but overlying one another and being contained below said base portion when in the retracted position.

2. The device according to claim 1 which includes ground engaging pins extending downwardly from said ground engaging legs for engagement with the supporting surface.
