Description: THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A lighting fixture unit including:
(a) a housing having a series of longitudinally spaced apart openings in one wall,
(b) a sliding door mounted on the housing, the door having a series of longitudinally spaced apart openings adapted to be positioned into and out of register with the housing
openings,
(c) a light socket assembly adapted to receive an electric light bulb hingedly mounted in the housing
(d) at each opening for swinging the bulbs from hidden positions within the housing, when the door is positioned to cover the housing openings, to exposed positions extending outwards of the housing, when the door is moved to position the door openings and the housing openings in register, said light socket assembly including:
(1) a base piece secured to a housing wall,
(2) the base piece having electric contact elements for making electric contact with an
electric cable extending longitudinally of the housing,
(3) a light bulb socket hingedly mounted on the base piece and having electric contact elements when the lights are disposed in the exposed position and for breaking contact with the base piece contact elements when the light bulbs are disposed in their hidden positions.

2. A lighting fixture unit as claimed in claim 1 including a spring re~cting against the base piece and the socket of each socket assembly for swinging the light bulbs to the exposed positions.

3. A lighting fixture unit as claimed in claim 1 or 2 in which the door is mounted inside the housing for longitudinal sliding movement, and a handle connected to the door and extending through a slot in the housing for enabling the door to be moved longitudinally of the housing.

4. A lighting fixture unit as claimed in claims 1 or 2 including a lever arm on each socket adapted to be engaged by the door when the door is moved to cover the housing openings for swinging the light bulbs to their hidden position.

5. A lighting fixture unit as claimed in claims l or 2 including:
(e) a pronged plug at one end of the housing,
(f) an electrical receptacle at an opposite end of the housing having an electrical connection through each socket to the plug so that light bulbs of a plurality of similar lighting fixture units can be electrically interconnected when the units are arranged in end to end relationship.
