Inventor: Nelson, Robert, (inventor)

Location: New Dayton

Comments: N/A

Description: WHAT I CLAIM AS MY INVENTION IS:-

1. A suspension means for a lifting jack, adapted to suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted, comprising a holding portion engageable with said lifting jack and portion resiliently engageable with said member.

2. A. suspension means for a lifting jack, adapted to suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted, comprising a holding portion engageable with said lifting jack, a portion resiliently engageable with said member and means for increasing and decreasing the resiliency of said portion.

3. A suspension means for a lifting jack, adapted to suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted, comprising a holding portion engageable with said lifting jack, a portion having a guiding member, engageable with said member and means for adjusting said portions relative to each other to accommodate various sizes of members to be lifted.

4. A suspension means for a lifting jack, adapted to suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted, comprising a holding portion engageable with said lifting jack, a portion resiliently engageable with said member and means for retaining said portion in operative or inoperative position.

5. A suspension means for a lifting jack, adapted to suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted, comprising a holding member adapted to be secured to the jack, said holding member extending outwardly from the jack, a clamping jaw extending above and connected to said holding member, a guiding member at one end of said clamping jaw to facilitate the application of the jack to the member to be lifted, and means for retaining the clamping jaw in operative position.

6. A suspension means for a lifting jack, adapted to suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted, comprising a holding member adapted to be secured to the jack, said holding member extending outwardly from the jack, a clamping jaw extending above and pivoted to said holding member and means far retaining said clamping jaw in operative or inoperative position.

7. A suspension means far a lifting jack, adapted to suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted, comprising a haloing member adapted to be secured to the jack, said holding member extending outwardly from the jack, a clamping jaw extending above and pivoted to said holding member, a guiding member at one end of said clamping jaw to facilitate the application of the jack to the member to be lifted means in connection with the holding member and clamping jaw for retaining said clamping jaw in operative or inoperative position.

8. A suspension means far a lifting jack adapted to suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted comprising a holding member adapted to be secured to the jack, said holding member extending outwardly from the jack, a clamping jaw extending above and pivoted to said holding member, a guiding member at one end of said clamping jaw to facilitate the application of the jack to the member to be lifted and means for resiliently urging the clamping jaw into contact with the member to be lifted when mounted an said member.

9. A suspension means far a lifting jack adapted to. suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted comprising a holding member adapted to be secured to the jack, a supporting member supported by and extending outwardly from the holding member, a curved clamping jaw extending above and pivoted to said supporting member, a guiding member at one end of said clamping jaw to facilitate the application of the jack to the member to be lifted and means for retaining said jaw inoperative or inoperative position, including a stop member at one end of the supporting member adapted to limit the movement of the clamping jaw in one direction, and a coil spring extending from the holding member to the clamping jaw adapted to cooperate with the pivot point of said jaw and said stop member.

10. A suspension means for a lifting jack adapted to suspend said lifting jack from a member to be lifted comprising a holding member adapted to be secured to the jack, said holding member extending outwardly from the jack, a curved clamping jaw formed of spaced members extending above and pivoted to said supporting member, a guiding member in the form of a roller bearing at one end of said clamping jaw to facilitate the application of the jack to the member to be lifted and means for retaining the clamping jaw in operative position.
