4 Claims.

Claim.—1. A grease gun filler comprising a container, a cover for the container removably mounted thereon, a tube threaded in the cover to be endwise movable therein. by rotation of the tube. a plate loosely carried by the lower end of the tube adapted to force grease upward through the lube by downward movement of the plate, an annular housing threaded on the upper end of the tube, said housing having a passage for grease therethrough and said housing including a laterally extending portion, a plate slidable in said extending portion and said housing and adapted for closing the passage therethrough, and means on the housing for engagement of a gun to be filled.

2. A device as denned in claim 1 and including a further plate mounted to turn on the liousing. said further plate being engageable in closing relation to the upper side of said housing and adapted to close the grease passage therethrough.

3. In a grease gun filler including a container for tlic grease and a tube for discharge of grease from the container. a housing on the tube, said liousing having a grease passage therethrough, and said housing including a lateral extension, and said housing having an outlet adapted for engagement of a gun to be filled, and a closure for the housing outlet, said closure including a plate, means mounting the plate in the lateral extension and housing slidable in and out of closing relation to said outlet, spring means normally holding the plate out of closing relation to said outlet, a catch member adapted to secure the plate in closing relation to said outlet, an air vent for the closure, and a cover for the housing outlet.

4. In a grease gun filler, a container, a cover for the container, means mounting the cover on the container removable then from. a tube threadably mounted in the cover depending within the container longitudinally movable in the cover, a plate loosely carried by the lower end of tlic tube for forcing grease through the tube when the tube is moved downward, a housing on tlic upper end of the tube, said housing being adapted for engagement of a gun to be filled, a closure plate slidable in the housing, and movable in and out of closing relation to the upper end of the tube. said plate including a vent for passage of air from the housing, spring means normally holding the closure plate with the outlet open, and a catch member engageable to hold the closure plate in closing relation to said outlet.
