Description: THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCULSIVE PROPERTY OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A device for transferring fluids comprising a catheter and a hollow needle adapted to freely receive the catheter, said needle having a longitudinal slot in is wall extending the full length thereof, the width of said slot being smaller than the outer diameter of the catheter but sufficiently wide to enable lateral separation of the needle from the catheter.
2. A device as claimed in claim 1 including means associated with the catheter for connection with a reservoir.
3. A device as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 including handle means rigidly fixed to said needle at the blunt end thereof, said handle having a slot co-extensive with the slot in the needle, the slot of the handle having a width sufficient to enable lateral separation of the handle from the catheter.
