Claim.—1. In a drum, the combination with the sheet metal drum shell, of an annular channel iron secured in the interior of the shell in proximity to each head end.

2. In a drum. the combination with the drum shell, skin retaining rings and stretching rings, of a drum rod formed by two members, means for pivotally mounting the inner ends of the members upon the drum shell, and a hook bracket connecting the outer ends of the members to the stretching rings.

5. In a drum, the combination with the drum shell and stretching rings, of a stretching device engaging the outer edge of each stretching ring and swingably mounted upon the drum shell at their inner ends.
