Water Softening Device (Patent No: 808227)

Description: The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. A water softening device comprising a casing having a fluid inlet at one end and a fluid outlet at its opposite end and with zeolite water softener in the casing
through which fluid must pass from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet, a filler inlet in the casing to allow the addition or extraction of the zeolite from the casing, a closure cap for the filler inlet, such cap secured releaseably to the filler inlet and adapted for removal from the filler inlet and to be connected to the fluid outlet to plug the fluid outlet and allow the admission of a zeolite re-generating solution into the casing, screens over the fluid inlet and fluid outlet to prevent the loss of zeolite from the casing through the fluid inlet or fluid outlet.

2. The water softening device as claimed in Claim 1 and means to control fluid flow into the casing.

3. The water softening device as claimed in Claim 2 wherein the means to control fluid flow into the casing comprises a constriction in the fluid intake to reduce the volume of fluid taken into the casing.
