Description: John Reuben Betts, Rochester, Alberta, Canada, 20th March 1928. Filed 29th March, 1927. Serial No. 323,695.

Claim.—1. A dirigible headlight- including a depending supporting rod having a headlight casing, supporting brackets for said rod, said rod having an angularly extended lower end directed forwardly, and an attaching rod having an upturned forward end on which said lower end of the depending rod is loosely mounted, said attaching rod having a forked rear end for attachment to the forward truck of a locomotive, the steering mechanism of a motor vehicle motor truck or the like.

2. A dirigible headlight including a depending rod having a turned lower extremity, supporting brackets for said rod, a headlight casing mounted on said rod, said rod being formed in sections connected between said brackets, and an attaching rod connected with the lower end of said first-mentioned rod and having a forked portion for its connection with the turning part of a locomotive or motor vehicle.

3. A dirigible headlight including a depending rod, supporting brackets for said rod, an attaching member connected with the lower end of said rod and having a forked portion for attachment to a turning part of a locomotive motor vehicle, truck or the like, a headlight casing carried on said rod and antifriction bearing means for said locomotive motor vehicle, truck or the like on which said rod-carried casing rides.
