WHAT WE CLAIM AS OUR INVENTION IS:-

1. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of height, weights capable of moving individually on or along a vertical guide or guides, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension operating to engage with each other when weight begins to move downward.

2. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight by which means of attachment on weights are held on means of suspension when weights individually begin to move downwards after attaining maximum height.


3. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight consisting of a catch on such weight and projecting therefrom held in an outward position and capable of an inward movement over means of suspension when weight is moving upward in combination with means of suspension of each weight by which means of attachment on weights are held on means of suspension when weights individually begin to move downward after attaining maximum height.

4. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, such means of attachment consisting of a catch on such weights and projecting therefrom in contact with means of suspension, catch held in outward position by a spring or counterbalance permitting inward movement of catch over means of suspension when weight is moving upward, catch shaped to engage with means of suspension when weight begins to move downward after attaining maximum height.


5. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward, on or along a column or columns , means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with individual means of suspension of each weight consisting of a series of teeth or catches at vertical intervals and placed so that means of attachment on respective weight engages with the means of suspension on its respective series immediately below the maximum height attained by such weight.

6. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with individual means of suspension of each weight, means of suspension consisting of a series of teeth or catches at vertical intervals, moving, or recording teeth at definite vertical intervals with or without fixed, or non-recording teeth between, all in a series and placed so that means of attachment on respective weight engages with the means of suspension on its respective series immediately below the maximum height attained by such weight.


7. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications oŁ heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with individual means of suspension of each weight consisting of a series of teeth or catches at vertical intervals, with or without fixed or non-recording teeth at intervals between moving, or recording teeth, moving, or recording teeth at definite vertical intervals, individual means of recording attached to each moving, or recording tooth and operating when means of attachment on respective weight engages with respective moving, or recording tooth.

8. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with individual means of suspension of each weight consisting of a series of teeth or catches at vertical intervals, with or without fixed, or non-recording teeth at intervals between moving, or recording teeth, moving or recording teeth pivoted on a column at definite vertical intervals, one end capable of engaging with means of attachment on respective weight, the other end attached to individual means of recording, means of recording operated by means of attachment on respective weight engaging with respective moving, or recording tooth, movement of such tooth on pivot thereby occasioned, operating individual means of recording.

intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, means of moving means of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on weights by movement of frame bearing means of suspension thereon away from means of attachment on weights~


11. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, means of moving means of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on weights, a frame bearing means of suspension, a stud or projection on frame, a cam capable of rotation in contact with stud, means of rotating cam against stud or projection causing movement of frame, means for looking means of suspension away from means of attachment on weights.

12. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, means of attachment on
each weight consisting of a catch on such weight and projecting' therefrom held in an outward position and capable of an inward movement over means of suspension when weight is moving upward, means of suspension of each weight by which means of attachment on weights are held on means of suspension when weights individually begin to move downward after attaining maximum height, means of moving means of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on weights, a frame bearing means of suspension, a stud or projection on frame, a cam capable of rotation in contact with stud, means of rotating cam against stud or projection causing movement of frame, means for looking means of suspension away from means of attachment on weights.


13. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, individual means of suspension of each weight consisting of a series of teeth or catches at vertical intervals, moving, or recording teeth at definite vertical intervals with or without fixed, or non-recording teeth between, all in series and placed so that means of attachment on respective weight engages with the means of suspension on its respective series immediately below the maximum height attained by such weight, means of moving means of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on weights by movement of frame bearing means of suspension thereon away from means of attachment on weights.


14. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, individual means of suspension of each weight consisting of a series of teeth or catches at vertical intervals, fixed, or non-recording teeth at intervals between moving, or recording teeth, moving, or recording teeth at definite vertical intervals, individual means of recording attached to each moving, or recording tooth and operating when means of attachment on respective weight engages with respective moving, or recording tooth, means of moving means of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on weights, a frame bearing means of suspension, a stud or projection on frame, a cam capable of rotation in contact with stud, means of rotating cam against stud or projection causing movement of frame, means for locking means of suspension away from means of attachment on weights.


15. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, individual means of suspension of each weight consisting of a series of teeth or catches at vertical intervals, with or without fixed, or non-recording teeth at intervals between moving, or recording teeth, moving, or recording teeth pivoted on a column, one end capable of engaging with means of attachment on respective weight, the other end attached to individual means of recording, means of recording operated by means of attachment on respective weight engaging with respective moving, or recording tooth, movement of such tooth on pivot thereby occasioned operating individual means of recording, means of moving means of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on weights by movement of frame bearing means of suspension thereon away from means of attachment on weights.

16. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, individual means of suspension of each weight consisting of a series of teeth or catches at vertical intervals and placed so that means of attachment on respective weight engages with the means of suspension on its respective series immediately below the maximum height attained by such weight, means of moving means of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on weights by movement of frame bearing means of suspension thereon, away from means of attachment on weights, means for locking means of suspension away from means of attachment on weights consisting of a catch on frame and hook catch, spring operated, to engage with catch on frame when means of suspension on frame are drawn away from attachment on weights.


17. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications or heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, individual means or suspension of each weight consisting of a aeries of teeth or catches at vertical intervals, with or without fixed or non-recording teeth at intervals between moving, or recording teeth moving or recording teeth at definite vertical intervals, individual means of recording attached to each moving, or recording tooth and operating when means of attachment on respective weight engages with respective moving or recording tooth, means of moving means of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on weights by movement of frame bearing means at suspension thereon away from means of attachment on weights, means for looking means of suspension away from means of attachment on weights consisting of a catch on frame and hook catch, spring operated, to engage with catch on frame when means of suspension on frame are drawn away- from attachments on weights.


18. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension of each weight, individual means of suspension of each weight consisting of a series of teeth or catches at vertical intervals, moving, or recording teeth at definite vertical intervals with or without fixed or non-recording teeth between, all in series and placed so that means of attachment on respective weight engages with the means of suspension on its respective series immediately below the maximum height attained by such weight, means of moving means of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on weights by movement of frame with return spring bearing means of suspension thereon away from means of attachment on weights, means for looking means of suspension away from means of attachment on weights consisting of a catch on frame and hook catch, spring operated, to engage with catch on frame when means of suspension on frame are drawn away from attachments on weights, means for freeing look on means of suspension by the dressing inwards of a slide plate or the doing of a similar act.


19. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or
along a column or columns, means for projecting weights upward
individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination
with means of suspension of each weight, means of disengaging
means of suspension from means of attachment on weights, means
for locking means of suspension from engagement with means of
attachment on weights, means of freeing locking means by the pressing inwards of a slide plate or the doing of a similar act.

20. In an amusement device in which weights are
projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably
decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical
intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or
along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward
individually, means of attachment on each weight in combination
with means of suspension of each weight, means of moving means
of suspension from engagement with means of attachment on
weights, consisting of a lever manually operable outside the
device, a rock shaft with return spring, a fixed arm thereon and upward connection thereto to arm connecting with a sleeve on
a rook shaft, an arm extending therefrom with an angular extension,
a catch arm pivoted thereto engaging with one of a series of studs
or catches extending from a cam, a cam in engagement with stud or
projection on a frame, a frame capable of movement bearing means
of suspension of weights, a means for locking frame bearing means
of suspension away from means of attachment on weights, a slide
plate or other adapted means for releasing locking means, return spring on frame returning frame and means of suspension behind
means of attachment on weights when looking means are released.


21. In an amusement device in which weights are
projected upward in combination with a visible space suitably
decorated having indications or heights at definite vertical
intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on
or along a column or columns, means or projecting weights
upward individually consisting of individual levers pivoted
on bearings, one end capable of engagement with base of
individual weight, other end positioned to be acted upon by
an individually manually operated plunger operable outside
the device.

22. In an amusement device in which weights are projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated having indications of heights at, definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually
upward on or along a column or columns, means of projecting
weights upward individually consisting of individual levers
pivoted on bearings, one end capable of engagement with base of individual weight, the other end positioned to be
acted upon by plungers operable outside the device, means
for looking ends of levers away from plungers and of holding
ends of levers capable of engagement with individual weights
in a looked position upwards.


23. In an amusement device in which weights are projected
upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated
having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward individually consisting of individual levers pivoted on bearings, one end capable of engagement with base of individual weight, the other end positioned to be acted upon by plungers operable outside the device, means for locking ends of levers away from plungers and of holding ends of levers capable of engagement with individual weights in a locked position upwards, a slide plate or other adapted
means for releasing levers in position to be operated on by p1ungers.

24. In an amusement device in which weights are projected
upwards in combination with a visible space suitably decorated
having indications of heights at definite vertical intervals, weights capab1e of moving individually upward on or along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward individually consisting of individual levers pivoted on bearings, one end capable of engagement with base of individual weight, the other end positioned to be acted upon by plungers operable outside the device, means for locking ends of levers away from plungers and of holding ends of levers capable of engagement with individual weights in a locked position upwards, consisting of a lever manually
operable outside the device fixed to a rock shaft with a return
spring, a fixed arm thereon, an upward connection thereto, an arm
connecting with a sleeve on a rook shaft, an arm extending there-
from with angular extension a fixed arm on second rock shaft
positioned above angular extension, fixed arms on second rock shaft below backward ends of levers, a fixed arm horizontal when locked on upper rock shaft, a pivoted vertical bar positioned below, held in position by spring.


25. In an amusement device in which weights are
projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably
decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical
intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward. on or
along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward
individually consisting of individual levers pivoted on bearings,
one end capable of engagement with base of individual weight, the
other end positioned to be acted upon by plungers operable out-
side the device, means for looking ends of levers away from
plungers and of holding ends of levers capable of engagement with
individual weights in a looked position upwards, consisting of a
lever manually operable outside the device fixed to a rook shaft
with a return spring, a fixed arm thereon, an upward connection
thereto, an arm connecting with a sleeve on a rock shaft, an arm
extending therefrom with angular extension, a fixed arm on second
rook shaft positioned above angular extension, fixed arms on rook
shaft below backward ends of levers, a fixed arm horizontal when
looked on upper rook shaft, a pivoted vertical bar positioned below
held in position by spring, a slide plate or other adapted means
for releasing levers in position to be operated on by plungers.


26. In an amusement device in which weights are
projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably
decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical
intervals, weights capable of moving individually upward on or
along a column or columns, means of projecting weights upward
individually consisting of individual levers pivoted on bearings,
one end capable of engagement with base of individual weight
means for looking ends of levers away from plungers and of
holding ends of levers capable of engagement with individual
weights in a looked position upwards consisting of a lever
manually operable outside the device fixed to a rook shaft with a return spring, a fixed arm thereon, an upward connection
thereto, an arm connecting with a sleeve on a rook shaft, an
arm extend1ns therefrom with angular extension, a fixed arm on
second rook shaft positioned above angular extension, fixed
arms on rook shaft below backward ends of levers, a fixed arm
horizontal when looked on upper rook shaft, a pivoted vertical
bar positioned below held in position by spring, means for
release of means for looking levers, a looking bar fixed on
rook shaft, horizontal when looked, a pivoted vertical rod
below end of locking bar held in position by spring, a slide
plate or other adapted means consisting of an extension to move pivoted vertical rod from below looking bar permitting the dropping downward of locking bar and rotation of its rock shaft.


27. In an amusement device in which weights are
projected upwards in combination with a visible space suitably
decorated having indications of heights at definite vertical
intervals, means for projecting weights upward individually,
means of attachment on each weight in combination with means of suspension operating to engage with each other when weights
begin to move downward, indicators suitably decorated, attached
to each weight, moving on the visible space and indicating the
height at which its weight engages with means of sl1spenslon.
