Game Table and Method of Control (Patent No: 776542)

Description: The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. A curling game table comprising:
A horizontal supporting member supported above the ground;
An upstanding perimeter member disposed transverse to the supporting member adjacent each end thereof;
A flexible, rectangular playing surface member mounted on the perimeter members in spaced relationship above the supporting member, the playing surface member being secured to the perimeter members adjacent its narrow ends and having a target area depicted thereon adjacent at least one end thereof;
And manually operable means, disposed between the supporting member and the playing surface member, adapted to separately raise a portion of the playing surface member on either side of the longitudinal axis of the playing surface and intermediate the longitudinal mid point of the said axis and the centre of the target area.

2. A curling game table comprising:
A horizontal supporting member supported above the ground;
An upstanding perimeter member disposed transverse to the supporting member adjacent each end thereof;
A flexible, rectangular playing surface member, mounted on the perimeter members in spaced relationship above the supporting member, the playing surface member being secured to the perimeter members adjacent its narrow ends and having a target area depicted thereon adjacent each end thereof;
A pair of longitudinally moveable slides disposed between the supporting member and the playing surface member, each slide being disposed substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the playing surface member adjacent the longitudinal sides of the said member, each slide being provided with spaced wedges; and
Fingers, disposed intermediate the longitudinal mid point of the playing surface member and the centre of each target area, adapted to be raised by the wedges when brought into contact therewith to raise the playing surface member portion immediately thereabove.

3. The curling game table as defined in claim 2 wherein:
The fingers are pivotally mounted on perimeter members disposed parallel to the longitudinal axis of the playing surface adjacent the longitudinal sides thereof~ said fingers being adapted to lie in the path of the wedges whereby they will be raised upwardly when the wedges are brought into contact therewith.
