Claim.—1. For use with a well, air compressing means an air lift foot piece adapted to permit the free inflow and outflow of water, an upwardly directed discharge conduit communicating with the interior of said foot piece adjacent the upper end of the latter, and a compressed air supply conduct communicating between the air compressing means and the upper end of the interior of the foot piece whereby compressed air may be introduced into the latter, said foot piece being adapted to be positioned sufficiently below the normal level of the water so the water flows into the lower end of the discharge conduit.

2. For use with a well, air compressing means, an air lift foot piece comprising a hollow casing having opening in its side adapted to permit the free inflow and outflow of water, an upwardly directed discharge conduit communicating with the interior of said foot piece adjacent the upper end of the latter, and a compressed air supply conduit communicating between the air compressing means and the upper end of the interior of the foot piece, whereby compressed air may be introduced into the latter, said foot piece being adapted to be positioned sufficiently below the normal level of the water so that water flows into the lower end of the discharge conduit.

3. For use with a well, air compressing means, an air lift foot piece adapted to permit the free inflow and outflow of water, an upwardly directed discharge conduit communicating with the interior of said foot piece adjacent the upper end of the latter, and a compressed air supply conduit communicating between the air compressing means and the upper end of the interior of the foot piece, whereby compressed air may be introduced into the latter, said compressed air supply conduit having its outlet above the inlet of the discharge conduit, said foot piece being adapted to be positioned sufficiently below the normal level of the water so that water flows into the lower end of the discharge conduit.
