A gate comprising a longitudinal frame, a gate disposed vertically in the frame and mounted for longitudinal sliding movement therein, a transversally extending beam supported on the intermediate portion of the frame and extending substantially outward from the sides of the frame, and gate operating means connected to the gate and to the outer ends of the beam arranged so that the driver of a vehicle can readily operate the gate without dismounting.

2. A gate comprising a frame including a pair of vertical end standards, a track member secured to the upper ends of the standards and adapted to extend transversally over a roadway, a vertical gate, a plurality of rollers attached to the upper edge of the gate and rotatable upon the frame track for longitudinal movement of the gate, a transversally extending beam secured upon the upper intermediate portion of the track and extending substantially outward from the sides of the frame, a plurality of pulleys mounted in the upper ends of the frame ,a pair of pulleys mounted at each end of the transverse beam, the cables trained over the said pulleys and attached to the gate so that the driver of a vehicle may actuate the cables from ends of the transverse beam without dismounting.

3. A gate comprising a frame including a pair of end standards disposed in vertical position, a channel track supported in the upper ends of the end standards and adapted to be extended transversally over a roadway, one section of the frame being open while the opposed section is enclosed by side members, a vertical gate, pulleys attached to the upper edge of the gate rotatable upon the frame track to a position adapted to enclose the open section of the frame or to a concealed position in the enclosed section, a transversally extending beam secured upon the upper intermediate portion of the frame track, angular bracing members attached to the outer ends of the transverse beam and to one end of the track, a pair of pulleys mounted at each end of the track, a pair of pulleys mounted at each end of the transverse beam, operating cables attached to the upper end of the gate and trained over the respective pulleys at the ends of the frame and transverse beam, and counter-balancing weights attached to the ends of the cables whereby the gate may be conveniently swung to open or closed position by the driver of a vehicle without dismounting.
