Louis N. Harbeke, Macleod, Alberta, Canada, 21st July, 1914; 6 years. Filed 20th March, 1914. Receipt No. 236,166.

Claim.—l. In a gramophone or like instrument, the combination with the sound box thereof, of a plurality of needles of different diameters in cross section, a supporting member for said needles whereby the position of the same may be readily adjusted, and means for holding said needles in adjusted position.

2. In a gramophone or like instrument, the combination with the sound box thereof, of a plurality of needles of different diameters in cross section, a supporting member radially supporting said needles, and whereby the position of the same may be readily adjusted, and means for holding said needles in adjusted position.

3. In a gramophone or like instrument, the combination with the sound box, and the supporting block provided with a hole therethrough, of a bar mounted to fit snugly in said hole and yet permit movement of same on its longitudinal axis, means whereby said bar is prevented from longitudinal movement, a plurality of needles of different diameter in cross section, radially carried by said bar, and means whereby after said bar has been turned to adjust the positions of said needles, said needles will be held in adjusted position.

4. In a gramophone or like instrument, the combination with the sound box. and the supporting block provided with a hole therethrough and further provided with a chambered front side, of a bar mounted to fit snugly in said hole and yet permit of movement of same on its intermediate axis, a ratchet wheel fixed to said bar and positioned within the chambered side of said block and against the front face thereof, means carried by the rear end of said bar and co-acting with said block and ratchet wheel to hold said bar from longitudinal displacement, a spring carried by said block, and engaging said ratchet wheel, and a plurality of needles each of different diameter in cross section, radially supported by said bar and positioned in front of said block, the whole arranged to operate as set forth.

5. The attachment for the purpose specified comprising a bar, a ratchet wheel fixed thereon and provided with three teeth, and a plurality of needles of different diameter in cross section radially carried by said bar and fixed thereon. In front of said ratchet wheel, as set forth.
