Description: Louis Dutil, Blairmore, Alberta, Canada, 2nd December, 1924. Filed 2nd February, 1924. Serial No. 284,501.

Claim—1. In a skate of the character described, an ankle support comprising a vertical plate hingedly connected to the heel-supporting plate and suitably curved to follow the contour of a heel, spaced parallel slots in said plate adapted to engage with an ankle-embracing strap.

2. In a skate of the character described, the combination with the heel-supporting plate, of a foldable upright plate adapted to fit snugly against the back of the heel and ankle, means in said plate adapted to engage with and carry ankle-embracing means.
