Curling Footwear (Patent No: 674708)

Description:

The embodiments of an invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. An article of footwear for use over the footwear worn by a participant in the game of curling comprising a sole of a thin sheet of material having a smooth, low-friction surface made of a relatively hard material selected from the group consisting of hard rubber, plastics, leather, cloth, metal and wood., said sole having at least one longitudinal groove separating said sole into a plurality of longitudinal ribs, and an upper affixed to said sole, said upper including a toe portion adapted to embrace the forward part of the participant's footwear, and attachment means adapted to maintain said sole and upper on said participant's footwear.


2. An article of footwear according to claim 1, said attachment means comprising at least one strap affixed to said upper.


3. An article of footwear according to claims 1 or 2, said sole being extended to cover at least a portion of the underside of the participant's heel.
