Description: Claims:

1. In an animal trap of the type disclosed, a. box like structure having a cover therefor, said cover being divided and each portion of same independently hinged to said structure in a manner permitting them to swing downward on inside thereof, an extending member on one of said cover portions engaging two similar members on another of said cover portions and supporting same, a trigger member pivotally mounted on said cover having a projection thereon engaging and supporting said extending member in set position, a. treadle on other end of said trigger member positioned to release said trigger projection from said extended member when same is depressed.

2. In an animal trap of the type disclosed, a box like structure having a cover therefor, said cover being divided and each portion of same independently hinged to said structure in a manner permitting them to swing downward on inside thereof, an extending member on one of said cover portions engaging two similar members on another of said cover portions and supporting same, a trigger member pivotally mounted on said cover having a projection thereon engaging and supporting said extending member in set position, a. treadle on other end of said trigger member positioned to release said trigger projection from said extended member when same is depressed, an upper box like structure fitting over aforesaid structure having an entrance in one end thereof, means supporting same in raised position, said means connected to said cover portions and operated by same to cause said structure to fall and envelope aforesaid box like structure when said cover portions fall.

In an animal trap of the type disclosed, & box like structure having a cover therefor, said cover being divided and each portion of same independently hinged to said structure in a manner permitting them to swing downward on inside thereof, an extending member on one of said cover portions engaging two similar members on another of said cover portions and supporting same, a trigger member pivotally mounted on said cover having a projection thereon engaging and supporting said extending member in set position, a treadle on other end of said trigger member positioned to release said trigger projection from said extended member when same is depressed, an upper box like structure fitting over afore said structure having an entrance in one end thereof, means supporting same in raised position, said means connected to said cover portions and operated by same to cause said structure to fall and envelope aforesaid box like structure when said cover portions fall, and means operated by said falling structure looking same in closed position, substantially as set forth.
