Description: William T. Bensted, Rockyford, Alberta, Canada, November, 1947. Filed 6th May, 1946. Serial No. 541,542.

Claim.—1. A two-way spring valve of the type comprising a cylinder having a wall and being partially closed at each end by apertured end plugs, a pair of opposed pistons slidable reciprocally within said cylinder, a push spindle for each piston projecting through each said apertured end plug, a compression spring interposed between said pistons, a water supply case enclosing said intake ports around the wall of said cylinder to permit flow of water from the water supply case into the cylinder for discharge through the partially closed end plugs, the flow being controlled by the longitudinal position of each piston in regard to said ports.

2. A two-way spring valve as described, comprising a cylinder with end plugs apertured for water outflow, a water supply case enclosing said cylinder, a pair of leak proof pistons slidable reciprocally within said cylinder mounted on spindles guided in said end plugs, centrally disposed within said cylinder between pistons, intake ports between said case and said cylinder for the passage of water from the case and through the apertures in said end plugs on the spring being compressed by the movement of either or both of said pistons, and stops in the cylinder to limit the outward stroke distance of each piston as disposed in its shut-off position between the intake ports and the outflow apertures.

Claims allowed, 2.
