Description: Andrew Dow and Harold Thomas Logan, co-inventors, both of Vermilion, Alberta, Canada, 15th August, 1922. Filed 30th July, 1921. Receipt No. 353,690.

Claim.—1. A combination rule, bevel square and protractor, comprising a carpenter's folding rule having hinged sections, one of the inner sections being grooved longitudinally, a plate inset in the said section and formed with a longitudinal slot of narrower width than the groove and designed to register with the same, a link pivotally connected to the other inner section and having a pointer end, a pin carried by the pointer end having its head slidably mounted in the groove, and graduations on the outer edge of the grooved section on which the pointer will register the angular opening of the inner sections.

2. A combination rule, bevel square and protractor, comprising a carpenter's folding rule, having hinged sections, provided with graduations on the upper and under face thereof, one of the inner sections being grooved longitudinally, a plate inset in the said section and formed with a longitudinal slot of narrower width than the groove and designed to register with the same, the plate being covered with graduations designed to correspond with the graduations on the upper face of the grooved section, a link pivotally connected to the other inner section, and having a pointer end, a pin carried by the pointer, and having its head slidably mounted in the groove, and graduations on the outer edge of the grooved section on which the pointer will register the angular opening of the inner sections.
