Description: The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. A multiple purpose square comprising a body plate, an integral depth guide flange lengthwise on the body plate bisected thereby and right angular thereto, an integral heel portion on the body plate extending laterally therefrom, a movable arm pivoted on the heel portion offset relative to the body plate, a guide arm fixed intermediately on the body plate projecting therefrom in a direction common with the heel portion, and connecting means between the movable and guide arms adapted for securing the movable arm at selected positions of adjustment on the guide arm.

2. In a square for window frame construction a body plate having a depth guide flange on one edge and a heel portion projecting oppositely to the depth guide flange, said flange and heel portion corresponding in width and length respectively to measurements of the top header and plank width in window frames to be constructed, a guide arm fixed on the body plate projecting laterally thereof in a direction common with the heel portion, a movable arm pivoted on the heel portion offset relative to the body plate, and means connecting the movable and guide arms at selected positions of adjustment.
