Cache Creek

Category : Creek

The precise origin of the name of this creek is unknown; however, it must be linked with a cache once kept here. A cache is defined in the Dictionary of Canadianisms as "a storing place where supplies, furs, equipment, and other goods may be deposited for protection from foraging animals and the weather." It comes from the French verb cācher, meaning to hide.

Flows north-east into Beaver River approximately 26 km north north-west of Fort McMurray.
