Colin Lake

The lake was named after Colin Fraser (1849-1941) who was born at Jasper House, the son of Colin Fraser, Sir George Simpson's piper and Hudson's Bay Company servant. Colin Fraser Jr. became a Hudson's Bay factor and later an independent trader and one of Fort Chipewyan's leading citizens. He was in partnership with other traders and established a reputation for the number and excellence of his furs. Holmgren, 1976. It is the source of Colin River.

Approximately 315 km north north-east of Fort McMurray.
