Fowel Lake

Category : Lake

In 1951 there is a reference to a new name to be added to the map, Ted Fowel Lake. Because of the policy in place at that time not to use compound names, the lake was labelled on the map as Fowel Lake. Although there is no origin information available, it may be some relation to an early trustee of the Hayfield school, Fred Fowl(sic), who is mentioned in the Beaverlodge local history.

Approximately 52 km west of Grande Prairie.
