The name for this hill appears in a report by James Hector of the Palliser Expedition, and is an approximate translation of musquachis or "Bear's Hill." Other native names for this feature include mus-kwa-chi-si in Cree, kyo-etomo in Blackfoot, and o-zin-za-hen in Stoney. |
