Exterior Wall Panel for Buildings (Patent No: 835016)

Description: The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. An interlocking wall panel for cladding exterior walls of buildings formed from a thin flat sheet of relatively stiff material, approximately in the range of 30 gauge to 20 gauge, having longitudinal ribs formed in said sheet for strengthening the same, a longitudinal interlocking strip on one outer edge of said sheet, a longitudinal locking strip on the other outer edge of said sheet for correlation with the interlocking strip of an adjacent wall panel, said longitudinal locking strip consisting of a longitudinal groove formed of a rearwardly extending part and a forwardly extending part, a longitudinal mailing strip on the outer edge of said forwardly extending part, and longitudinal outwardly extending sealing and locking beads on said interlocking and locking strips, respectively.

2. An interlocking wall panel as defined in claim 1, in which the ribs formed in the said sheet have alternately upwardly and downwardly extending sides.

3. An interlocking wall panel as defined in claims 1 and 2, in which the longitudinal interlocking and locking strips extend outwardly from the base of the downwardly extending side of said ribs.

4. An interlocking wall panel as defined in claim 1, in which said beads on said interlocking and locking strips are formed to snap into engagement with one another when the adjacent wall panels are interlocked.
