Olds College
Located in south-central Alberta, Olds College was founded in 1913 as the Olds School of Agriculture and Home Economics. Changes to the Canadian economy and industry have brought changes the school, with the institution being renamed as Olds College and incorporating applied research and high-tech learning for its students. With a student population of nearly 1,500 Olds College has become one of Canada's foremost entrepreneurial colleges for applied agriculture.
Olds College has created a specific division for innovation and researchthe Olds College Centre for Innovation (OCCI). OCCIs vision is to be "recognized as a dynamic, focused leader that along with its partners drives an innovation culture to promote and develop value-added production and entrepreneurial learning." OCCI strives to achieve innovation in agriculture and food industries with applied research, using commercially-focused development of products and processes.
