In April, 1984, the first issue of the Il Congresso newspaper was published in Edmonton.  The paper has been published continuously since then and is a valuable resource not only for Edmonton's Italian community but also for Calgary's and for Italian communities in other regions of Alberta and western Canada.  It also reports on Italian, Canadian and international affairs.  Articles have been selected from 1984-89 and provide rich contextual information to support themes explored in the Celebrating Alberta's Italian Community website.  Some of the more recent articles have been digitized by Il Congresso and can be found on their website at (Currently Unavailable) www.ilcongresso.com

An image search option has also been provided for the photographs included in the selected Il Congresso articles.  Click here for the Image Search option.
