  • Summer Student employment ... if you're employing a summer student under the USTEP program, please be advised that the notice from the Student Employment and Career Centre should be clarified with respect to employment of students who may be family members.

    Both the federal and provincial human rights codes prohibits discrimination on the basis of family status unless it can be demonstrated that such employment would lead to a conflict of interest. For more information, contact Kathy Gray at 966-6325 or Doug Rain at 966-5097.


  • Conference ... Taking the Lead - A Healthy Workplace is a conference being offered by the Northern Saskatchewan Learning Partnership on Thursday, May 13, 1999, in the Education Building.at the University of Saskatchewan.

    The conference offers an opportunity to look at the benefits and potential barriers to achieving a healthy workplace. Through the keynote addresses and workshops, a variety of practical tools will be presented to managers/leaders to use in their own organizations in the effort to achieve a healthy workplace.

    The Northern Saskatchewan Learning Partnership is a coalition of Saskatoon District Health, the University of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Public Service Commission, and the Career Centre for Saskatchewan Federal Employees, and Siecor. For more information, contact the Conference and Catering Office at 966-8600.


  • Organization and Employee Development is offering three workshops in May and June. Pre-Retirement Planning seminars are being offered on May 11 and May 13. Juggling the Many Demands of Academic Life* is being offered on May 7 and Pausing for Perspective on Your Career and Life Path is being offered on June 17 and June 24. For more information on these workshops, refer to the Coming Events section of this issue of On Campus News, or call Barbara Meier at 966-6272.
