MANY FACES OF MARY

1. MARY IN THE  DARK
For a few months I’ve been shining a spotlight on a not quite antique “black Madonna” in my  “house-chapel” when I come downstairs every morning and leaving it on all day.  She loves it and looks so beautiful and majestic, all lit up. I pray when I look at  her.
A few weeks ago , the whole side of the house connected to this electric outlet, went OUT and Mary and a few other things like the  cellar and garage, were left in the dark.  Hmm I thought, and called the electrician who has not come yet. Now I have a hard time looking at Her without Her light on. It’s like she’s mad at me! “Oye,” I say.

2. MARY IN THE MUD
Easter afternoon I went to a park and sat on a tree made into a chair, facing the road and a yard across the street, to say a Rosary. Recently I had noticed that their Christmas decorations were still out front…big plastic monstrosities. But that day I looked closer and low and behold, only the 3 foot plastic Mary statue was lying face down, muddied by Spring. St. Joseph, the Wise Men and Manger were still standing.  My first thought was, “She fell over because she doesn’t want to see me. Oye,” I said.

3. MARY IN THE LAND
Yet again I will not be coming to The Way of the Rose thursday meeting in  Woodstock because of a job commitment and I regret missing the support, group Rosary and teachings. I’ve been thinking and telling friends, “I’m going to Baltimore,”  but really thinking,  “Oye, I’m missing Thursday night Rosary meeting.” The other day I said to someone, “I’m going to MARYland.”  I couldn’t muster an OYE, and maybe I said an interior, “YAYYY, I can’t get away from her!”

4. MARY EVERYWHERE
What’s next, Mary?
