For 7 years I filmed collaboratively with my father Henry Montano and after his stroke I continued documenting his daily care and after three years at home, his death.
This performance allows the performers and audience to think about death, mourn the death of their family and friends in an atmosphere of support and healing.
The seven songs that I sing are dedicated to my father and my mother Mildred, who sang in Dad's band.
After the two hour performance, we all go outside and burn the letters to death in a fire pit while dancing to I'LL Fly Away.
