'Patriot Act' Tackles the Importance of the Asian American Vote
The popular Netflix Series with Hasan Minhaj discusses an important topic in this week's episode.
Last December 8, Patriot Act covered the topic of the Asian American
vote. Titled "Don't ignore the Asian Vote In 2020," host Hasan Minhaj
discussed how Asian Americans are the fastest-growing population
in the country and why Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders
cannot be ignored as a voting bloc.

The half-hour episode covered several topics such as the power of
the AAPI electorate, barriers to voting, the model minority myth, and
voter outreach. One key point the show makes is the lack of
outreach towards Asian Americans from politicians as supported by
our Voter Survey which shows a majority of Asian Americans
reporting little to no contact from either party.

and Andrew Yang as one of the most visible Asian American candidates. The episode also featured our Asian American Voter Survey,
AAPI Data, and our local partners Asian Community Development Center (ACDC) in Nevada and the Orange County ASian and Pacific
Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA).
